The 2023 Kernow Dive Festival is our 21st Anniversary.

It all kicks off during the evening of Friday 9th June with the diving on 10th & 11th June.

The tides are great for all sites!

Full details with be published soon – in the meantime, reserve those dates!

2023 Camp Site Booking

Once again, Ponsandane camp site have agreed to open early for the exclusive use of the Kernow Dive Fest and we have already booked a marquee for the 2023 event.  We are discussing booking arrangements with them and it is likely that we will ask clubs to ‘reserve’ a number of places and place an initial ‘bulk booking’ and deposit for the first night.  This allows the camp site some security to cover their costs of opening early but should also make it easier for everyone.

The exact details of this will appear here soon and we want to make it easy for everyone to book in advance.  Of course, you will be able to add / change your bookings nearer the time as well.

Make a week of it?

Some clubs made a week of it and came down during the week before, diving all the popular sites and working up towards the festival weekend. Plenty of diving to be had and with a RIB, a number of launching options within a hour’s drive can open up some exciting dive options.

The camping

For the festival, we meet on the Friday evening 9th June at Ponsandane Campsite, Gulval, Penzance, TR18 3DU.

Booking Details for 2023 will be updated here soon

The Diving

Club RIBs go to pre marked sites, launching early  on Saturday 10th June at Penzance Harbour and we have a great time diving!  Everything is organised according to the dive selections you make on your booking forms.  Saturday evening we have a massive BBQ organised by one of the local clubs and then we have fund raising raffles and auctions!

Sunday TBA– more diving for those who are able to do so!  Because not everyone is ‘fit to dive’ after the party, the Sunday diving is organised ‘on the spot’.

What does it cost?   £27.50 per head for the weekend with all profits going to DDRC, the hyperbaric chamber in the south west.
What does this cover?  Your diving and your BBQ!  Fuel is reimbursed for all club boats used at the festival on the Saturday – the costs of the BBQ and our minimal organisational expenses.  Over the last 20 years, we have raised almost £50,000 for DDRC.  Our main emphasis will be to have a great time and meet all our friends and dive buddies again!

Safety.  All diving is planned within the BSAC Safe Diving Guidelines – Your dive choicSONY DSCes must be within your qualification and experience and this is confirmed on the booking form by your own branch diving officer.
